Hey. Scary time in our world right now… Feels sort of silly to be sending something like this out right now, but I’m hoping that this good omen can help you take a deep breath or make you smile or at least distract you for a few minutes.
For the past two years I’ve kept a page in my notes called “things to write about.” Sometimes the longer it sits there, the longer I think, who CARES.
So for this good omen, I’m sharing a list of ideas you may or may not care about.
Please choose the number next to the headline that piques your interest most by voting in the comments of this very post.
You’re welcome to vote for more than one, but (to spare you from the hell of optionality) not more than 3.
Here we go:
Is casual community dying?
A deep dive into Bend it Like Bekham — and other great sports montages.
How to keep up momentum after reaching out daily for three years.
How & why to consistently generate creative ideas.
Behind the scenes — the truth of building communities.
How sneezing violently has impacted my life: a story about adult onset allergies.
Dreams are insane so why do our eyes glaze over when people talk about them?
On doing what you love.
Non specific sadness and ambient anxiety.
What if my dog knew what I meant when I waved at her?
On wanting to love yourself and also wanting to change yourself.
Just the constant fear of tsunamis.
What we consume and how it shapes us.
Profundity: the way one sentence in a loud bar on an ordinary night can stick to you for years.
Theatre and startups, the people in them, and why they are the exact same.
Haha - this is amazing!
I'm keen for #6 because I'd love to hear your perspective! I wrote about my experience (127 sneezes in one day) in my newsletter 'On Sneezing' and it was weirdly popular: https://davidcharles.substack.com/p/on-sneezing
Also #14 and #7 :))
